Bullocks

Very good turnout for our Annual Continental Bullock Sale and this was reflected in almost full clearance. Good quality commanded a very good price with a number of Southern Buyers.

 We had a 98% clearance of Bullocks with prices well improved but quality was excellent. The average price for Bullocks between  301-400 kg was  €1,030 with a maximum price of €1,060 for a 385 kg Limousin Bullock. Bullocks  between 401-500 kg the average was €1,187 with a maximum price of €1,400 for a 490 kg Charolais Bullock.Bullocks over 500kg the average price achieved was €1,390 with a maximum price of €1,780 for 700 kg Simmental Bullock.

Weanlings  between  301-400 kg the average price was  €851 with a maximum price of €1,050 for a 325 kg Charolais Female  Weanling. Weanlings  between 401-500 kg the average was €868 with a maximum price of €890 for a 415 kg Charolais Female.

 We had a 81% clearance of Heifers with prices well improved but quality was excellent. The average price for Heifers   between  301-400 kg was  €929 with a maximum price of €1,200 for a 400 kg Belgian Blue Heifer. Heifers  between 401-500 kg the average was €1,209 with a maximum price of €1,470 for a 500 kg Charolais Heifer.Heifers over 500kg the average price achieved was €1,390 with a maximum price of €1,030 for 735 kg Limousin Heifer.

We had an 89% clearance of Bullocks with prices holding their own but quality was a big factor. The average price for Bullocks 301-400 kg was €869 with a maximum price of €925 for a 370 kg Shorthorn Cross Bullock. Bullocks 401-500 kg the average price was €1,063 with a maximum price of €1,280 for a 500 kg  Aberdeen Angus Bullock. Bullocks over 500kg the average price achieved was €1,208 with a maximum price of €1,520 for a 700kg Aberdeen Angus Bullock.

We had a 55% clearance of Heifers with prices back a bit but quality was a big factor. The average price for Heifers 301-400 kg was €993 with a maximum price of €1,130 for a 400 kg Charolais Heifer. Heifers 401-500 kg the average price achieved was  €990 with a maximum price of €1,150 for a 500 kg  Charolais Heifer.
